Please join us for our Alternative Delivery & Payment Models (APMs) program.  APMs are a form of evidence-based payment reform that incorporate quality and total cost of care into reimbursement rather than a traditional fee-for-service structure.  APMs are proving an effective strategy for employers to significantly reduce the cost and quality of health care delivery while improving the experience of patients.   Keynote speaker, David Lansky, will provide a national update on the opportunities and effectiveness of APMs now being used by all types of employers and industries.  APMs include Bundled Payments, Reference-Based Pricing, Direct Contracting, Centers of Excellence and others.  Attendees will learn why APMs are now essential and how to work with health systems and health plans to develop APMs.

This program will also feature an opportunity for Houston employers to offer a Maternity Care Bundled Payment.     C-Section rates have increased by 50% past decade, and yet U.S. maternal morbidity and mortality has increased 3-fold in the past 30-years.   Wide variation in a healthcare procedure can be an indicator of overuse, not medically indicated, or at worst, harmful to mother and child.     Attendees will learn how to work with providers to promote a value-based payment benefit design option to significantly lower cost and improve outcomes.
