REGISTER NOW to learn about the HBCH Specialty Pharma SWAT Analysis (Spend, Waste & Trends) across the pharmacy and medical plans.  You will learn about an opportunity to make a huge difference in your total benefits spend. The webinar will summarize the results of our initial SWAT, and will feature testimonials from the five Houston employers who were the early adopters to this proven strategy.

HBCH will be conducting a second round of a deep dive specialty pharma  SWAT Analysis (Spend, Waste & Trends) across the pharmacy and medical plans in 2018.  The five Houston employers who participated in round 1 had an aggregate spend of $25,026,154 and aggregate potential savings of  $5,247,799 (20%).  The aggregate cost for the SWAT was $108,500.  The realized savings for each employer will depend on changes they make in plan design.  As one participant expressed, “Just the education and transparency about specialty pharma were more than worth our cost of participation.”

In case you did not see it, here is a link to a May 6, 2018 60-Minutes piece on specialty pharmacy pricing schemes.  It is a perfect case study of why every employer should be diligently monitoring and asking questions of all who stand to make money in the manufacture, sale and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
