Speaker Bio

Michelle Buckner is currently the US Benefits Manager for Kellogg, Brown, and Root (KBR) where she drives outside-the-box thinking in the strategy, planning, and implementation of KBR’s employee benefits package.  In her current role, she focuses on providing leadership to the benefits team while considering KBR priorities such as sustainability, DEI, innovation, and cost containment.  She has over 25 years of group benefits experience with 15 of those years being in benefits administration. She has worked to provide expertise in Health and Welfare benefits to corporations (with populations as large as 150,000 employees)as well as unions and has held numerous roles within the benefits space.  

Michelle graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s in Labor and Employment Relations and is an Army Veteran.   While Michelle was born and raised in Houston, she currently lives in Colorado with her husband, her seven-year-old daughter, and three dog children.
