Houston Business Coalition on Health Names New Chair and Newly Elected Board Members
HOUSTON – January 19, 2021 – New officers and directors were announced by the Houston Business Coalition on Health (HBCH), a non-profit multi-stakeholder coalition devoted to improving the price, and consumer experience in healthcare delivery.
Dan Burke, Benefits Director for Turner Industries was named Board Chair, and Luke Prettol, Health & Wellbeing Benefits Manager at ChampionX, and Sheri Mott, Benefits Director for ELLWOOD Group, were newly elected to the board of directors.
“HBCH has made tremendous progress over the last several years and is uniquely positioned to be much more than a purchasing coalition,” said Burke. “As a board we will continue to focus on increasing transparency to link price to quality to enable members to getter better value for their healthcare dollars. While there is no magic bullet, we can use our collective influence to bring meaningful change to
a healthcare system that has never been asked to compete on cost and quality. Employers cannot do this alone and by working together through HBCH we continue to seek to bring positive change through a collaborative approach with health systems and payers. Real change will require a combination of many factors including clinical transformation, payment reform and benefit design. We look forward to working with our partners across the healthcare spectrum in 2021 and beyond.”
